Mens Antique silk Dressing Gown Purple black Art Deco Bathrobe brocade Filene

A stunning and very unusual antique or vintage gentleman's silk brocade winter dressing gown or bathrobe in floral purple and black silk jacquard brocade. Lined in navy silk, and includes original black silk tassel belt. Sizing: I would say this fits like a men's large.

Its generously cut and fully lined. 43 cm 17 across shoulders. 64 cm or 25 shoulder seam to cuff. 137 cm or 54 from collar top to bottom seam.

Most of the fabric is in excellent condition. There is some fray and disintegration on and around and inside the collar lining etc. Could be repaired with a patching etc. According to Wikipedia, Filene's originally William Filene & Sons Co. Was an American department store chain; it was founded by William Filene in 1881.

The success of the original full-line store in Boston, Massachusetts, was supplemented by the foundation of its off-price sister store Filene's Basement in 1908.
